MEMBERSHIP FAQs
Who can become a member?

Only residents of the Springfield School District from Springfield, Morton and Swarthmore, Delaware County, PA are eligible for membership.

When can I become a member?
Membership and sports registration is open all year long via our website.

What does it cost to become a member?
You must have an SAA membership FOR EACH PLAYER to play an SAA sport. We want to get kids involved and strive to keep the cost of playing as low as possible.

Child #1 = $110
Child #2 = $90
Child #3 = $75

Child #4+ = Free

Note:

- Travel team fees are extra and vary by sport.
- Additional fees may apply by sport (e.g., umpire fees).
- A late fee may be applied on a sport-by-sport basis.

- The Membership fee covers January to December of the corresponding year. Registration and fees will be due each year thereafter, regardless of what time of you purchase a Membership. So, if you purchase a Membership in January you have 12 months. If you purchase your Membership in September, your Membership is good for the four remaining months of the year. The fee covers all sports all year as long as your child is grade & age appropriate.

What sports are available and when are they played?
The SAA offers a range of intramural and travel sports in the Winter, Spring and Fall.  Tryouts could be required for a travel sport.  Tryouts may occur months prior to the start of the official season.  Details are posted on this website and are included in the registration process.  If you have questions about a specific program, contact the director of that program to learn more. Don't wait to sign up so you avoid late fees for that sport.

How do I become a member?
All registration is online.  Everyone must purchase a membership through the website.  Signing up for a sport without purchasing a membership will NOT get your child into that sport.

Can I request my child be placed team with another child?
Yes. You can make requests during the sport sign-up process.  We will do our best to accommodate requests, however, it isn't always possible. The later you register for a program the less likely it is that we will meet your request and we might close the option to make a request.

How can I volunteer to coach?
We need your help!  The sport sign-up process allows you to indicate when you have an interest in coaching.  Learn more about coaching with the SAA.

How can I get more involved?
Beyond coaching, we're always looking for people to contribute to the SAA.  Programs sometimes need new directors to lead the way and they always need additional help in a variety of roles.  The SAA always benefits from various talents and expertise of members (legal, marketing, construction, etc.).  Contact the SAA and/or attend one of the monthly meetings (8:00 PM on 2nd Wed. of each month at the Old Central School building...behind Wawa).
