Welcome back for another great season! The first practice will
be held on Saturday, September 8 from 8:30-11AM at the fields
behind Springfield High School. Please be prepared to play with
a stick, mouthguard, shinguards, and water.

Who is eligible to play?
All girls in 3-8 grades who want to have fun and learn about field
hockey.
How much does it cost?
As long as she is a member of the SAA for 2007, there is no additional
cost.
Where and when does it meet?
Saturday mornings from 9-11 (first week at 8:30), beginning September
8 and ending November 3 at the fields behind Springfield High
School. All players will meet at the varsity field hockey field
the first Saturday. There are two away scrimmages scheduled at
either Aston, Interboro, or Strath Haven.
Who are the coaches?
All players are coached by the current Springfield High School
varsity and JV players, who are very experienced and enthusiastic.
There will be approximately 1 coach for every 8 players. Practices
will be planned and supervised by the program director or another
adult.
What should she wear?
All players will receive a team t-shirt in September and should
wear it every week. In colder weather, she can wear a long sleeve
t-shirt or sweatshirt under the t-shirt. Either sneakers or cleats
will work well (you do not need to buy new cleats for this season).
What equipment does she need?
All players need a field hockey stick, shinguards, and a molded
mouthguard. C&M Sporting Goods on Baltimore Pike in Springfield
offers SAA field hockey players a Cranbarry youth package of a
stick, stick bag, ball, and shinguards for a discounted price.
What if she has a conflict and cant come to practice?
The player should tell or call her coach so that the coach can
make any adjustments for the following weeks practice and
games.
What if it rains?

What is Parents Day?
Parents Day is an opportunity for moms, dads, grandparents, aunts,
uncles, cousins
any adult family member...to learn more about
field hockey and to have fun with their daughters. Parents are
encouraged to wear their sneakers and participate in drills and
scrimmages. The session will end with a coaches scrimmage.
How can she register?
She simply needs to be a member of the SAA for 2007 and indicate
field hockey on the registration. If she is a member and has not
indicated her interest in field hockey, then please email the
