2022 SAA Softball Programs
1/2 Grade Intramural Clinic
If you're 8U eligible and totally new to softball, you may want to consider the 1/2 grade program. This is an intramural softball program which will teach the basics of softball in non-competitive environment. Contact Director Greg Tamaccio with additional questions. Season usually starts around mid-April.

Babe Ruth Softball
For 8U/10U and 12U we will have teams in two different competition levels.
Majors - Ridley-Interboro Babe Ruth League (Ridley/Norwood/Springfield/Media/Clifton/Prospect Park)
Minors - Baltimore Pike Babe Ruth League (Media/Springfield/Clifton)

We will hold Player Evaluations to determine where girls are best suited to play. The goal is place them into a league that will challenge them, but allow them to succeed and enjoy playing softball. The rules, uniforms, fields and training opportunities are the same for both leagues.

8U leagues are Machine Pitch. 10U/12U for Ridley Interboro is fast pitch windmill, Baltimore Pike is modified/windmill optional for 10U/12U. 

Softball Equipment
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are not allowing sharing of equipment.
Each girl should have cleats (non-metal), fielder's mask, helmet w/facemask, glove and bat.
Any bat with USA or ASA logo will suffice.  Composite bats are allowed, but they can be rather pricey and I would only recommended them for 12U and up. 

Babe Ruth Tournament Information
Babe Ruth league players will be eligible to play in District and State Tournaments. Being that we have a small pool of players in Babe Ruth divisions there may not be separate tournament tryouts. Depending on the number of teams in the division the final selections will be done by division coaches in April. Selected players will then need to pay tournament fee on SAA website in May.
