2022-2023 SAA Boys Travel Basketball Team Tryout Information

Tryout Make Up Session: Sunday, October 30, 2022
Location: E.T. Richardson Middle School

8U & 10U - 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
12U & 14U - 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

You may only attend the make-up session if you did not attend either of the previous two sessions.

Where: ET Richardson Middle School

Who: Boys ages 15 and under. (Grades 2 to 9).
ATTENTION: To get admitted to the tryout, your son must be registered through the Springfield AA website by 8 am on the day of the tryout and signed up for travel basketball. If their name is not on our list that we will pull from the SAA database, they will be turned away and have to return to another session.

Important Note: Because of conflicts with soccer, football and other activities, please attend those sports first. If you cannot attend the session that you are scheduled for, try and attend another session of a different age group. There will be a makeup session for an evening session to be announced at a later date.

Make Up Session - Date To Be Determined

Please do not bring players into the gym until the group in front of you has cleared out of the gym. We have to take roll of who attends tryouts so that all players can be notified after team selections are made.

Teams announced in Mid November. Practices begin Thanksgiving weekend.

Notes:

1. Your son must attend 1 session to be placed on a team. The more sessions that he attends the better he will be viewed by the evaluators and placed on the appropriate team for his ability. Please note which age group your son will be placed into and have him attend this session if it does not conflict with another one of your child's in season sporting events (soccer, football).

2. Your son must reside in the Springfield School District in order to eligible to play in the program and the league which we compete. Teams compete in the Delco Boys Basketball League

3. Tryouts are closed to parents and siblings.

Travel Program Policy (Adopted Sept 2018)
The boys travel program for the A division teams are in a win first league. These A level teams are playing in a competitive league. Each player will receive playing time in every game during the regular season. Some of the times, the time might be equitable among the players. In the playoffs and tournaments, playing time will likely be in favor of the more skilled players. This will be especially true as the age level increases.
